Samsung India has announced that engineers at its R&D institute in Noida have played a significant role in enhancing various aspects of the newly-launched Galaxy S23 series, including user experience, health features, performance improvements, and user safety.

Role of Samsung R&D Institute Noida

Situated in Noida, the Samsung R&D Institute Noida (SRI-N) is one of the three R&D centers in India, with the other two located in Bengaluru and Delhi. These institutes focus on developing advanced solutions tailored to both global and local market requirements, leveraging expertise in product commercialization.

According to Samsung, SRI-N worked closely with teams in Korea to contribute to groundbreaking innovations incorporated into the new Galaxy S23 series.

KY Roo, Managing Director of Samsung R&D Institute in Noida, emphasized the institute’s commitment to delivering innovative technology that enhances customer experiences. He highlighted SRI-N’s role in developing intuitive mobile experiences aimed at empowering and enriching customers’ lives.

Innovations in the Galaxy S23 Series

Several key innovations have emerged from SRI-N for the Galaxy S23 series:

  • Galaxy to Share App: Developed to facilitate the sharing of customizations and personalization settings across Galaxy devices in the country.
  • Multi-timer Feature: Enables users to set and manage multiple timers simultaneously for various activities and tasks.
  • Bedtime Alarm Feature: Enhanced to offer customizable alarm timings on a day-by-day basis, providing users with greater control over their sleep schedules.
  • Direct Dial 4X1 Widget: Added to the S23 home screen for easy access to priority contacts, allowing users to dial them with a single touch.

Samsung emphasizes that these apps and features aim to deliver seamless and intuitive experiences to customers while offering extensive customization options.

Contributions to Samsung Health Trackers and Safety Features

Engineers at SRI-N have also played a pivotal role in enhancing Samsung Health trackers, including Water, Body Composition, Cycle Tracking, and Heart Rate monitoring.

Additionally, SRI-N engineers developed the Emergency SOS and Emergency Sharing feature. This feature enables users to send help messages containing their location information and video recording during emergencies by pressing the power button three times.

The contributions from Samsung R&D Institute Noida underscore the institute’s dedication to driving innovation and shaping the future of technology, ensuring that Samsung products continue to meet the evolving needs of consumers worldwide.
