Unveiling Wet Beast

Studioninedots introduces an innovative office landscape within the Westbeat mixed-use building in Amsterdam-West, known as ‘Wet Beast’. This concept aims to foster experimentation, interaction, and spontaneity within the social realm of a working environment.

The Vision of Westbeat

Westbeat, completed in 2021, is characterized by its striking concrete arch constructions at the ground level. These arches create dynamic spaces suitable for various users and purposes. Commissioned by Gerimedica, Studioninedots developed an office concept centered around three spatial elements designed to promote connectivity and creativity.

A Multifunctional Environment

Wet Beast challenges traditional office setups by introducing three distinct pieces of furniture that serve multiple functions. These objects provoke individual interpretation and can accommodate shelter, seating, meeting spaces, lectures, events, play areas, relaxation zones, and contemplative corners. The diverse palette of colors, shapes, and materials adds to the versatility of these elements, allowing for temporary or permanent use and continuous evolution in function.

The Beast’s Playful Realm

Wet Beast embodies a playful world reminiscent of Escher’s creations, offering more than just meeting spaces. Its design features stairs, fixed elements, and passages that encourage free interpretation and usage. Large glass walls promote interaction between the sheltered core and the surrounding environment. The Jungle stairway serves as a connecting element between levels, doubling as a presentation podium or relaxation spot due to its organic shapes and integrated planting.

Intimate Spaces

Town Hall, characterized by friendly timber seating and light curtains, offers an intimate setting either half hidden behind curtains or seamlessly integrated into the open space. This versatility allows for diverse interactions and activities within the office environment.
