The Herbert Feuchte Foundation Association, an amalgamation of various foundations catering to individuals with multiple disabilities, finds its base in Büsumer Straße in Heide. Over the years, several esteemed structures have adorned the street, serving as the administrative and residential nucleus of the foundation.

Evolving Needs: A Call for Transformation

In response to the evolving needs of its aging residents, the foundation association embarked on a transformative journey, opting to construct a new centralized residential complex alongside a daily subsidy facility. This initiative aimed to modernize the existing infrastructure and provide enhanced amenities for the residents, necessitating the replacement of outdated buildings.

Architectural Innovation: Design and Concept

Spanning an expansive floor area of nearly 3,500 square meters, the project envisages the creation of six residential groups across two stories. Each group will accommodate eight residents, fostering a sense of community within shared apartment communities. Three south-facing residential buildings enclose introverted garden courtyards, offering serene outdoor spaces shielded from the bustling street.

Harmonizing with History: Architectural Ensemble

The architectural ensemble comprises pitched roof houses with varied roof pitches, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding built environment. The design ethos pays homage to the neighboring structures, ensuring visual harmony and architectural continuity along Büsumer Straße.

Embracing Heritage: Adaptive Reuse

The management headquarters of the Herbert Feuchte Foundation Group will relocate to the adjacent small villa, formerly part of a brewery complex. This historic building, reminiscent of its residential past, will now serve as the administrative hub for the foundation. In a reciprocal transformation, the old brewery building opposite undergoes renovation, emerging as a contemporary office and training facility, symbolizing the foundation’s commitment to progress and innovation.
